VENT-FREE / GAS FIREPLACES

The Fire Rock look can also be achieved with a vent free model. The vent free firebox assembles the same way as the traditional model.

The circled numbers in this diagram show the easiest order in which to set the components.

Clearances To Combustibles
The Fire Rock Vent-free firebox must be installed with the following clearances to combustibles:
Unit to floor 0 in. Unit to side framing 0 in.
Unit to back wall 0 in. Unit top at rear to framing 0 in.
Unit top at front to framing 3.5 in. Unit opening to ceiling or mantle 12 in.
    Unit opening to adjacent wall 6 in.
The front surface at the bottom and sides must be covered with non-combustible material. The front surface at the top must be covered with non-combustible material that extends three (3) inches above the top of the structure. Any header above the top at the unit front must be non-combustible material.
